Everton the season before last from which Baines scored from, Southampton last season I believe and I think it was either Swansea or it could have been Hull, although thinking about it I think it was Swansea as Sigurdsson took the free kick.

When was the last time Noble gave away a free kick from a missed timed tackle around our area?
If it happens a lot you should have no problem listing the last few.

I'll give you the first three but the last one is a bit harsh, he puts in a fair few tackles, unfortunately not all are timed well, these ones seem to be around our area a lot also!

Carroll isn't mobile enough mot play up front in his own Decent impact sub at best
Boleyn I'm pretty sure we didn't pay 6m for him and we bought maiga for 5m and he can't even get on the bench Chances are you've never seen him play so why don't you wait to judge him once you know what he's like......and Noble doesn't tackle bwhahahaha

Norf. So they buy a Spanish u-21 international for £6m to sit on the bench do they, instead of replacing the slow, average, non scoring, non tackling, sideways passing Noble

Salah on the right, Payet in the middle, Enner on the left and up front is very tasty. But puts a lot of pressure on the other two in midfield...

From what I have seen, I think it would be a fair bit of a waste putting Payet on the wing.

Seth I was told Friday we're in for salah in a big way but there's massive competition I'd love to sign him or konoplayanka even wouldn't mind Townsend from the Y's as he seems surplus down there

Have to agree - it's odd that we haven't been even linked with wingers. I think plan A is to put Valencia and Downing on the flanks, which I can understand from Bilic's perspective seems like a strong first choice. And he has Payet, Sakho, Jarvis, and maybe even Obiang as options.
Tbh I think it's been very hard to rate the wingers during Allardyce's time because they play to a stricter system that I don't think other managers would employ. I can even see the logic of giving Jarvis another chance under the new manager.

If we could sign another top class wide man as well as landing song and jenkinson we'd have an excellent starting 11

Lots of people leaving out Obiang
I'm a massive Noble fan and he'll play plenty but Obiang from the little I have seen of him is going to be quality.

Seems like we could set up relatively narrow (with a front four made up of two mobile forwards either side of a no. 10, behind a single striker) and then rely on our full backs for width going forward. Which means we need really good strength in depth at full back.

That has been curious to me as well. If, big if, paper talk is true we have been looking at a lot more central midfielders and forwards than wingers.
We have three forward that show they could play well at points last season and 2 fringe players that play or can play there. If we are playing one striker that seems like plenty.
Similar situation in the centre of the midfield.
I think we need more bodies everywhere except maybe forwards if we are only playing with 1 but wingers in a 4231 seems the most pressing aside from a right back.

The fact that we haven't seemed to focus on strengthening the wings suggests that we might not be relying on traditional wingers next season. No Ayew, Salah. Downing shipped out... Just Jarvis remaining as a proper wide midfielder really. By contrast, at Besiktas Bilić had a few wide midfielders and players like Gökhan Töre were key...
Have to wait and see I guess.

Thinking about this Jarvis could play the ayew role....
He should defo be given the chance as I think the formation that bilic plays he could thrive in
And he won't have to do the shitty floaty crosses

I never said Carroll was simply long ball (as a player) as his goal against Swansea away would suggest.
Under Slav we'll find out, because i suspect lumping is a thing of the past.
